PITIFUL LONELY GRANDMA MAO SAMORN

When you hear sure you will have compassion for her life unlike other. But if you see directly at her unpossession home, you will definitely even more pity. Staying with good hearted poor neighbour can give her life to the at-least breathing life. Mrs. MAO SAMORN, 76 years old woman,is staying with neighbour at Tot Tear village, Sangkat Chek, Svayrieng City, Svayrieng Province, lives on unearnable and serious illness conditions which half of her body is now unmovable.

She told Kohsantepheap news that she had husband with 2 children who were killed during Khmer Rouge regime at Damnak Ron of Battambang province and after 7th January 1979 liberation's day, she returned to Battambang and met only her husband's family while her own family were all disappeared. Later on she met her newphew in Phnom Penh and started small business of selling sweets (noum-some kind of sweet foods), used clothes, dried fish and smoke fish. At early 2009, she was faint and fell down and began her serious illness and her business has ended sine then. She lived with her nephew for sometime.


Unfortunately during Khmer's Bchoum Ben season, she was banished by her nephew at Chek Pagoda with sickness. By seeing her miserable life in Pagoda without being taken care of, Mrs. Meas Yean who always goes to Pagoda for praying, brought her home and feeds her by asking for left foods and rice from Pagoda as she is alo in poor living conditions.
With this news came to the attentions of Las Vegas Sun Community members, all members start to arrange a package of donation to support her almost-end hungry life. On November 11, 2009 the committee brought 2 bags of rice, 6 cases of instant noodle, 1 big case of sardin, 6 bundles of fish sauce and soya sauce, 5 packs of seasoning, 5 kg of dried fish, 10 kg of white sugar and salt, 20 tins of sweet milk, 8 pieces of skirt (sarong) and scarf, 8 pieces of mat, mosquito net, blanket and pillow and also cash amounted KHR400,000.
The committee also announces to generious persons or company for donting additional support to her in all means as possible.
